– take the first step to becoming a Smart City.
Aalborg, 10th May 2012, mayors of 15 European Cities signed the Smart City Memorandum of Understanding. The memorandum outlines the importance of becoming a smart city and underlines the strong drive from the signatories to putting smart city on their agenda.

The objective is to work with existing collaborative networks, including EUROCITIES and the Green Digital Charter network, the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL), the Connected Smart Cities Portfolio Network, the Future Internet Assembly (FIA) and others, to demonstrate how research and innovation can contribute to smart, inclusive and sustainable growth in our cities and communities.

If your city wants to join the Smart City Memorandum of Understanding, please contact Luis Munoz at luis@tlmat.unican.es. The signature process is simple and inclusive. We will then invite you to the next steps in discussing the Manifesto and work together with you on becoming a Smart City.
